It’s easy to see why the locals in Peru thought these guys were crazy. Taking on this isolated mountain range with its 16,000 foot passes, self-supported, in the rainy season, is a bit loco. Dangerous even, as it turned out.
As riders and filmmakers, there’s a youthful earnestness about this team that’s pretty admirable. They tell an exciting travel story with the Andes as their stunning backdrop and they do it all on bikes. It’s been a hit at bike/outdoor film festivals and won for Best Emerging Filmmaker at the 2014 Boulder Adventure Film Festival. Worth a watch.
“¿Huayhuash?¿¡Huayhuash con bici’s!? No. No nooo… Es imposible.” Maybe so, but the beauty is in the attempt, isn’t it?
